Individuals, whether independently or with assistance, shall be taught to utilize some simple first aid such as caring for small cuts and bruises and state the precautions and restrictions related to other medications. They shall have access to and can use a first aid kit. They shall be familiarized with earthquake, fire and medical emergency needs.
They shall be, whether independently or with assistance, be taught to recognize familiar emergency signs and emergency phone numbers. Also, the individual shall, whether independently or with assistance, demonstrate adequate apartment security and the use of appropriate tools. The individual, if unknown, shall be taught know how to react in case of emergency and can implement emergency procedures in their home setting and in the community.
