United Supportive Living has a strong community integration component to its program and desires to have their individuals live in homes that are located in family neighborhoods, which are within walking distance of local parks, stores and restaurants. Individuals shall live close to their work and/or day program and have access to transportation. Individuals shall access these local resources as they choose, whether they work on community integration objectives or simply enjoy recreational activities.
Other community-based activities which provide opportunities for interaction typical same-age peers shall be accessed. Haircuts, shopping for clothes, groceries and personal items shall be done in the community with the individual present.
