Individuals, whether independently or with assistance shall be facilitated when applicable in opening and maintaining a checking or savings account. They shall learn to make deposits and withdrawals independently. The individual shall be assisted in cashing and writing checks, being aware of monthly income, name fixed expenses and paying bills in a timely manner.
They shall be taught, whether independently or with assistance, to be able to utilize a calculator and in counting change. United Supportive Living shall assist them with developing and monitoring their weekly and monthly budgets and handle all aspects of checking or savings accounts. United Supportive Living shall assist the individual in a non-fiduciary manner with their money management goals.
United Supportive Living shall ensure that financial safeguards are in place so that the individual has ready access to their own funds in order to purchase items they need or desire. The individual and their circle of support shall decide on the best course of action and shall state which plan the individual chooses in their annual ISP.
